Player pauses after 10–20 seconds, and pronunciation is turned off
Player mode allows you to listen to your words and phrases from your categories even when your phone screen is turned off. This way, you can conveniently learn on the go.
Please note that Player mode is part of the Premium version. However, in the free version, you can still listen to your words and phrases, but only while the screen is on.
To ensure Player mode works correctly, please disable Battery optimization for the app in your phone settings.
You can find this option under App Settings → Battery Optimization.
On certain devices, the Android OS may pause the Lexilize Player service when the screen is turned off. This occurs because additional UI services aggressively manage the app’s background activity.
Below, you can find device-specific instructions to resolve this issue:
Huawei (EMUI), Honor (Magic OS)
Android 7 and higher, go to Settings → Battery → App launch → find our app “Lexilize Flashcards” → (Battery usage details) → App Launch
Do next: switch from “Manage automatically” to “Manage manually”.
Samsung and other devices
If you have a problem with player mode, please try next:
- Go to Android Settings → “Apps”,
- Find in the list our app “Lexilize Flashcards”,
- Select “Battery”,
- Select “Unrestricted”.
Xiaomi devices
Disable battery restriction for our app:
- Go to Android Settings → “Apps”,
- Find in the list our app “Lexilize Flashcards”,
- Select “Battery”,
- Select “No Restrictions”.
In some case, you need to disable “Battery saver” mode. You can do that directly in the control center or Device Settings → Battery → Current Mode → selected “Balanced”
Very important notice!
On Xiaomi devices with MIUI or HyperOS, if “Battery Saver” mode was enabled before, you may need to restart the device to allow the OS to let our app run with the screen turned off.
This appears to be a system-related issue, and we hope it will be resolved in future updates.
